The Federal Law referred to as AIR 21, passed in 2000, protects employees and safety related contractors from employer retaliation for reporting air carrier safety violations. Airlines or airline industry employees who are informed of safety violations and seek to report them, are protected from adverse employment actions by their employers. You may also be protected by AIR 21 for refusing to follow illegal instructions. Read below for more information about what is protected and how to report safety violations.
